Chairman of Board of Trustees Awards Commander-in-Chief of Dubai
Police

Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board
of Trustees of the Al Maktoum Foundation, honored Major General
Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police as
"Humanitarian Personality". The Award is launched by Ataa Magazine,
which is issued by the Foundation, in the "Year of Tolerance". This Award
comes in recognition of Dubai Police efforts for launching Himaya Schools
project, which provides the best solution for achieving satisfaction and
relieving the concern about the tuition fees for Dubai Police staff, whether
military officials or civilians.
Launched for the academic year 2018-2019, this project, wherein Dubai
Police pays tuition fees, is completed under direct supervision by the
Ministry of Education and the Knowledge and Human Development
Authority, including 1598 students, of which 640 females, 740 males, and
200 kindergarten students in two schools and one nursery.

Appreciation
Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan pointed out that this awarding comes as an
appreciation gesture from the Al Maktoum Foundation Board of Trustees for
this first of a kind project aimed at easing the burden on the employees,
enhancing the principle of belonging, institutional cooperation, employees'
happiness and satisfaction, and providing free educational chances to the
children of those working at Dubai Police.

Honoring
Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai
Police, commented that this award is an honor, not only for Dubai Police
General Headquarters, but also for every citizen and resident living on this
giving land. This unique initiative comes within the framework of Dubai

Government and in line with the instructions of His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the
UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to ease the burden on the staff.
He added that the initiative provides the best solution for employees'
identified complaints regarding teaching their children and the financial
burdens of tuition fees. To address this challenge, it was necessary for Dubai
Police to find solutions to meet these requirements and to pay their
employees to teach their children, in order to resolve these complaints after
studying several suggestions, including the adoption of a project for the
benefit of the workers' children without any fees.
In this project, Dubai Police pays these fees, providing the requirements of
the educational process, and qualified teaching and administrative staff to
manage the entire project at the expense of the HQ. At the end of his speech,
the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police thanked Sheikh Rashid bin
Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and
Mohammed Obaid bin Ghannam, Secretary-General of the Al Maktoum
Foundation for this honoring that is considered as a medal pinned upon the
chest of Dubai Police during the "Year of Tolerance".

Partnership
Mohammed Obaid bin Ghannam, Secretary-General of the Al Maktoum
Foundation, stressed that Dubai Police is one of the most important partners
in charity work. He added that Dubai Police is keen to develop and enhance
this relationship in various fields that serve Dubai Government's visions and
strategic objectives, since there are many common interests on humanitarian
and social areas that serve the community and the public, in addition to the
development of humanitarian work, in line with the spirit and nature of life.
